Hello, everyone! I'm Carine, a mother, sister, friend, and a child of God. I'm passionate about numbers, cooking, make-up artistry, and so much more. But above all, I absolutely love music. Many describe me as a "songbird" because I'm always singing. Growing up, my sisters and I would turn everything into a song, and it seems my little toddler has inherited the same love for music, as he can't resist singing and dancing whenever he hears a tune. It truly runs in the family! (LOL)
I was born and raised in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, a former French colony in West Africa. At seventeen, I moved to Casablanca to pursue a post-secondary education. After two years in Morocco, my older sister and I arrived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in December 2007, right in the heart of a harsh winter! Some time later, my younger sister joined us, marking the start of our incredible adventure in this new land.
The journey hasn't been easy from the day we landed, but finding a supportive community where I could nurture my faith, gifts, and abilities changed my life for the better. In every country I've lived, I've sought out a community to serve in the Praise & Worship team. Canada was no exception, despite being far from family and adjusting to a vastly different environment.
For ten years, I couldn't write a single song. But after facing some tough times, I rediscovered my journal from years ago. In the past two years, I've started writing recipes, slams, motivational messages, and songs. These songs have become my anthem, and I sing them over my son and myself whenever I can. This creative season inspired me to start a personal blog to share my little stories and passion for worship.
In 2019, with $300 and a lot of courage, I released my first song, "Says The Lord." It was the beginning of a journey beyond my wildest dreams. The song gained recognition in the Canadian Christian music scene, and I followed it with "Perfectly Made" in 2020. My 2023 EP, "Found & Crowned," features popular tracks like "Second Chances" and "Found & Crowned," both of which made it to the top 10 favorite Canadian songs on the Cancon charts. I was honored with Gospel Song of the Year at the 2023 GMA Covenant Awards for my inspiring messages of faith and love.
God has been incredibly faithful, blessing me with the Best Gospel Song award at the GMA Covenant 2023 for "Found & Crowned", finding my sound with blends Christian Contemporary, Pop Rock, French/Afro Contemporary, and Gospel, creating a unique sound with smooth melodies.
